Actividades del grupo
Dentro del Servicio de Cardiología del Hospital Universitario Cruces, se encuentra adscrito el Grupo de Cardiología Clínica y Molecular el cual centra sus estudios en el estudio de la genética y fisiopatología de la enfermedad cardiaca.
En la actualidad tenemos varios proyectos de investigación en marcha en colaboración con otros centros hospitalarios. Así vamos a proceder al análisis genético de los pacientes con miocardiopatia no compactada en colaboración con la Dra. Montserrat Iglesias Lorenzo del Complejo Hospitalario Universitario de A Coruña.
Otro campo de investigación se centra en el estudio del ambiente proinflamatorio que rodea al desarrollo del carcinoma de colon y los efectos que éste produce a nivel cardiaco. Asimismo, de forma anexa estudiaremos los efectos a nivel molecular que rodean al síndrome coronario agudo con elevación de ST y la implicación del estrés oxidativo en este fenómeno. Estos estudios se realizarán en colaboración con el Dr. Vidal-Vanaclocha del Grupo Hospital de Madrid y la Universidad San Pablo-CEU.
Por último, un campo futuro a desarrollar sería el efecto del hábito tabáquico desarrollado por el paciente en el pasado sobre los diferentes medios de revascularización coronaria existentes en la actualidad.
